THE Wrexham Lager brewery shop is celebrating its second birthday this week.

The venue, based on St George's Crescent in Wrexham, was first opened on April 12, 2021.

Since then, it has welcomed over 10,000 people through its doors.

Those include people from all over the world, including parts of America and Canada where all things Wrexham have become so popular during the last two years.

That is due to Wrexham AFC's takeover by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney which has helped put the city on the map.

The Wrexham Lager team says it has been an 'incredible two years' since the shop was opened.

A statement from the business added: "Not only has it enabled us to get to know so many of our customers, new and old, locally and from all over the world but it’s also just been a lot of fun.

"From what was an empty warehouse turned into a shop, last year alone we welcomed over 10,000 people to the Brewery.

"With more products and exciting news to come, we’re excited to continue to keep warmly welcoming you to the Brewery (with a cold pint too on Fridays!). Thank you for all your incredible support."

The Wrexham Lager Beer Company Limited was first founded in 1882 by two German immigrants, Ivan Levinstein and Otto Isler, where they made bitters, ales and lagers.

In 2000, the business stopped producing Wrexham Lager products, the site was demolished and changed into a shopping outlet.

However, there was a revival of the Wrexham Lager product in 2011 with brothers Mark Roberts and Vaughan Roberts building a much smaller but successful brewery which has led to great success and even the opening of a brewery shop.
