A North Wales wine producer has been shortlisted in the 'Rising Star' category for the 2023 Welsh food and drink awards.
Vale Vineyard is ran Gwen and Rhys Davies, who are the first grape farmers of the Vale of Clwyd.
Both Gwen and Rhys grew up on local farms and studied at agricultural college before long and varied careers in the agricultural community.

The entire Davies family, including their two children are involved in the business including harvest days when they bring together wider family and friends to hand pick the precious crop.
The couple planted their vineyard in Llandyrnog, Denbigh four years ago and have finally been able to enjoy the fruits of their labour as their debut wines were launched in July 2022, which have been very well received.
The Wales F&D Rising Star of the Year award is made to individuals in their first 5 years in the Food and drink industry.
The judges are looking for individuals who demonstrate ambition, energy, skill and vision, as well as tangible business success.
Gwen Davies, said: "We are very excited to make the final in the 'Rising Star' category.
"An immense amount of work has gone into establishing the vineyard and the first grape harvests therefore this nomination is extra special."

Several of the wines have already sold out so the family are eager to release their 2022 vintage which will once again be of the finest quality.
The family are planning on opening for vineyard tours and wine tasting events from May onwards and look forward to welcoming visitors to the vineyard which occupies a fantastic location with stunning views across the Vale of Clwyd.
