Why not come along and meet people like you - have a chat about matters that are important to you over a good old fashioned cuppa! You can bring along any craft project, a book, a quiz - or just yourself. The friendship group meets every Monday at 2pm. There is no need to book.
If you are unable to get to Wrexham then we have Friendship Groups at Brynteg, Coedpoeth, Llay and Rhos libraries.
Wrexham Carnival of Words - Magi Ann visits the library
Magi Ann is fast becoming a favourite character among Welsh children across the country. Generations of children from Clwyd and beyond have learned to read with the black and white Magi Ann books since the 70s, but today her stories are available for free, and animated on six exciting apps. Wrexham Carnival of Words is happy to announce Magi Ann will be visiting four of our libraries as part of the festival this year. She will be at Wrexham Library on Saturday, April 22, 10.30am-11.30am as part of a wonderful line up of storytelling activities for all of the family. Then on Monday, April 24, she will be visiting Rhos Library, 10am, Ruabon Library, 1.30pm and Llay Library at 3pm. We look forward to seeing you!
Quick Reads
One in six adults in the UK struggle with reading and one in three adults do not regularly read for pleasure.
Quick Reads provide a route into reading that prioritises great story telling and adult-focused content while ensuring the books are written in an accessible and easy to read style. The books are written by some of the most popular authors in the UK. This year's authors are Jojo Moyes, Agatha Christie, Peter James, Dreda Say Mitchell, Roddy Doyle and Bernadine Evaristo. These books can be a brilliant entry point to new genres, authors as well as the spark to reignite or build up the joy of reading. All titles are available from your local library.
