POLICE have issued an update as to why part of the A483 in Wrexham was closed last night (April 4).
The Leader reported that the road was closed southbound from the B&Q roundabout, with motorists facing delays of almost 20 minutes back to the Gresford roundabout.
North Wales Police have this morning (April 5) revealed that this was due to a male having been spotted on the A483 Caego overpass.
Wrexham Inspector Luke Hughes addressed 'social media rumours' regarding the incident this morning.

He said that the man, who was not local to Wrexham, is now in a 'place of safety'.
Inspector Hughes said: "An early update from me just to address a few social media rumours. You`ll likely be aware of a situation late afternoon yesterday that led to what was described by many media outlets as “total gridlock” and in fairness, with the Stansty underpass also closed it did causes serious issues.
"A male was seen on the A483 Caego overpass, the fear was that he may fall or jump. Officers and members of the public spent a considerable amount of time supporting the male who was safely removed.
"He did not fall or jump and was not struck by a bus, in fact I wanted to thank the quick thinking bus drivers who placed their buses directly below the individual to significantly reduce the height he may have fallen.
"The male, not local to Wrexham is now in a place of safety and I hope he gets the support he requires."
