The Early Years Education Award recognised an innovative and successful child-minding provider, nursery, pre-school or organisation which stands out from the rest for their early years support or provision.
They should be able to clearly demonstrate the impact their work has had on their users or the children in their care.
The winner of this category was Playland Day Nursery established in 1978 which has successfully provided a reliable and professional service to the parents and children of Wrexham.
The nursery aims to provide a happy, healthy and secure environment to combine the maximum fun and stimulus, whilst developing children’s own personalities and reaching their full potential.
The award was accepted by Jacqueline Ryan, Owner at Playland Day Nursery, Ceri Hughes, Nursery manager at Playland Day Nursery and Danielle the Team Leader.
Ceri said: “We didn’t expect to win and it is an honour.
“I am very proud of the whole team and they all work tremendously hard.”
Jacqueline added: “It is an honour and a privilege and a real tribute to the work of those past and present at the nursery.”
The nursery has been operating for the past 45 years and Danielle, a team leader at the nursery shared her thoughts on the role.
