The secondary school pupil of the year award recognised a young person who has achieved something beyond expectations in education, within challenging times over the last 12 months.
This will not necessarily be about the highest academic achiever - it could be about the way an individual has developed themselves personally, through sheer determination to do better.
The winner of this award was Macie Leigh, age 12, a year eight pupil from Flint High School.
Macie is a pupil that goes above and beyond, learning around topics and producing amazingly detailed and scientifically advanced pieces of work.
She also helps teach and support other pupils in her class.
Macie said it was “an honour” to win the award and to be nominated amongst the other talented pupils.

She said: “I want to thank my teachers and my family for everything they do for me.”
Macie is described as having a phenomenal attitude for learning and a passion for science.
Maisie would love to work in science in the future, particularly in robotic science.
Macie's parents said they were extremely proud of their daughter and her dedication and hard work at school.
Other nominees for this category included Michael Roberts, who is described as an outstanding student and a rising star in the arena of darts, and Serenity Harwood who overcame unbearable pain and returned to school.
The award was presented by Gary Hockaday, JCB’s Operations manager.
