Two Buckley pubs are throwing an Easter fundraiser for a two-year-old boy with a rare genetic condition.
William Moore, from Buckley, began having seizures at just eight weeks old and was admitted to hospital where he had numerous tests including lumber puncture, MRI scans, CT scans, blood tests and neurological tests.
After being diagnosed with epilepsy he was later confirmed as having a rare genetic disorder called 1P36 microdeletion syndrome.
The disorder is very rare with around one in 10,000 children diagnosed with the condition.
The condition causes several defects such as very delayed motor skills, non-verbal communications, eye and hearing problems, a heart conditon and many more complications.
William's mother, Dionne Moore, said: "We have been told that William may never walk, crawl or even talk but we will try to prove the doctors wrong."
William is having heart surgery in April at Alder Hay children's hospital in Liverpool.
Dionne, a mother of five, added: "This has been a tough few years for William having to go through physiotherapy and being admitted to hospital for various health conditions, the most recent being meningitis in November."
Dionne shared that the hidden costs of having a child with disabilities often go unrecognised, she added: "It is very difficult, it is 24hr care and the care allowance doesn't cover much."
Hearing William's story, The Nant Inn in Buckley have decided to host an Easter fundraiser in collaboration with The Black Lion pub in Buckley.
The event will raise money to provide sensory aids and toys for William to assist with his non-verbal communication, in addition, the money will be used to fund further physiotherapy sessions.
