North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, Andy Dunbobbin, said: “Cybercrime is a fast-growing area of criminality and one that I am determined to fight against in North Wales.

"This new event will offer business owners across the region the opportunity to come together, hear from the experts, and learn how to keep their businesses safe from cyber criminals and I am delighted to be working with the cybercrime team at North Wales Police and other key partners to stage it.”

Cybercrime Detective Constable Roheryn Evans of North Wales Police added: “Cyber can be a daunting prospect for small or medium-sized business owners and is often the last thing on people’s minds when they’re busy running their operations. Business owners most likely haven’t got anybody to help when it comes to computers, or there may be a friend they can call to help once in a while.

“We want this event to demystify cyber and help business owners understand what the risks are, and the first steps people need to take to protect themselves and their business.

"Importantly, we want business owners to know there are people who can help. If you use an email to stay in touch with your clients or suppliers, use social media apps to promote your business, or you’ve set up a website to sell on the Internet, this event is for you!”

  • This event is free of charge (complimentary lunch included), on June 14, 2023, from 9am to 4pm, at Wrexham Glyndŵr University.
