Chirk Gardener’s Club will be treated to a talk bout wildflowers this month as part of their next meeting.
The club, which gathers monthly, had a recent talk by Jill Cawthry which proved very popular.
Her talk called Back to the Drawing Board, covered garden design principles including hard landscaping, planting, and colour theory.
Dawn Gough, chair of the club, noted that she had inspired them all to re-look at their gardens with a view to making changes. So, lots of summer jobs are planned!
At the next meeting, the subject will be using wildflowers in the garden. Nancy Lowe an RHS-qualified designer, who describes herself as a ‘natural gardener’, will show how to integrate wildflowers into a range of situations, from traditional beds and borders to more naturalistic settings.
She will give advice about choosing good natives for each situation and what type of wildlife gardeners can expect to see more of if they integrate particular natives into their gardens. There will also be plants for sale.
The meeting will be held on Monday, March 27 at 7.15pm. the group meets in Chirk Parish hall, with membership being £12 per year or £3 per visit including refreshments.
