WREXHAM men who played a "significant role" in supplying Class A and B drugs into the area have been jailed.
Nathan John Barnes, aged 33, Mark Shaun Armstrong, aged 31, and Daniel Lee Williams, aged 35, all appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court for sentencing on Thursday (March 16).
The trio had previously admitted being concerned in the supply of Class A and B drugs.
Prosecuting, Simon Rogers, said that Barnes, Armstrong and Williams were part of a multi-tier organised crime group (OCG).
They were part of an OCG which was concerned in a multi-million pound conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs. The top tier supplied drugs on a national level, the second at regional level in Liverpool and the third at a local level in Wrexham, the court heard.
The court was told that between January 2021 and February 2022 members of the Wrexham OCG made 10 trips to Liverpool. In total, around 6kg of cocaine and smaller levels of cannabis and amphetamine were supplied to the Wrexham OCG - which was headed by Barnes.
Barnes was said to be running the "logistics" of the drugs being transported between Liverpool and Wrexham. His second in command was Armstrong, who handled cash and directed those below him in the chain to supply the drugs.
The court heard that Williams wasn't part of the direct supply of drugs - but instead stored them in his property at Kenyon Avenue, Wrexham.
During a search of the property, police found Williams was storing 998 grams of cocaine in a cupboard, worth around £90,000. This is as well as smaller levels of cannabis and amphetamine.
His mother, Gillian Williams, aged 66, was also sentenced on Thursday for perverting the course of justice. The court was told that she removed a "large quantity" of drugs from the property's garage under instruction from Daniel Williams.
After police had conducted a search warrant at the address, but hadn't discovered the drugs located in the garage - Daniel Williams rang his mother asking her to find a "blue box" in the garage which contained "some stuff". She was told that Barnes would attend the address to collect it.
The box was later recovered by police, and was found to contain over 9,000 grams of amphetamine.
The 6kg of cocaine that was transported to Wrexham from the second tier Liverpool-based OCG was worth around £225,000, the court heard. From selling the drugs, the OCG made proceeds of £197,000.
After police conducted search warrants of Barnes and Armstrong's properties - they discovered mobile phones which were found to contain messages orchestrating the supply of the drugs between Liverpool and Wrexham. There was also evidence of phone calls made to members of the Liverpool OCG throughout the 13-month period.
Judge Timothy Petts described it as a "well organised" operation - supplying drugs which cause "immense harm" to individuals. He said the group made "large scale profits" on the back of creating "large scale misery".
Barnes, of Heol Y Bryn, Garden Village, Wrexham, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Armstrong, of Deva Way, Caia Park, Wrexham, was also sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Daniel Lee Williams, of Kenyon Avenue, Wrexham, was sentenced to seven and a half years imprisonment.
Gillian Williams, of Kenyon Avenue, Wrexham, was given a 16-month prison sentence which is suspended for 18 months. She must complete 100 hours of unpaid community work and 20 days of rehabilitation activity.
More sentencings will take place tomorrow (March 17).
