NORTH Flintshire police say an investigation has been launched following a report a female cyclist was assaulted on the Connah’s Quay coastal path last night.
The incident is reported to have occurred near the white train bridge, at around 9pm on Monday, March 13.
The force is now asking residents to remain vigilant and has asked anyone with any information to come forward.
Inspector Wesley Williams said: “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and for reassurance purposes, patrols will be increased along the coastal path.
“I would urge anyone walking in the area to remain vigilant, and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
“I am also appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to get in touch with us on 101, or via the website, quoting reference number A036833.”
