A Connah's Quay woman has said losing four stone has helped her to become happier, healthier and more confident.
Being the best at losing wouldn’t normally help you to scoop an award - yet this member from Connah's Quay has done just that after being named the town’s ‘Greatest Loser’ 2023.
Betsy Bryan who is a member of the Farfield Hall, Connah's Quay Slimming World group has gone from a size 20 to a size 12.
She said: “I feel like a new woman since losing weight – in fact, I look so different that people who I haven’t seen for a while often can’t believe I’m the same person.
"I have to say though, it’s the change on the inside that’s been the greatest – I’m happier, healthier and much more confident now.”
The proud 44-year-old joined the Farfield Hall group, which is run by Bonnie Campbell, in late 2021.

Betsy said: “My weight impacted on so many aspects of my life, from struggling to find clothes that I liked to fit to not being able to do simple everyday tasks without feeling tired and out of breath.
"Before I lost the weight I was just existing, now I’m full of life and can do so much more.”
Betsy’s weight was also putting a huge strain on her physical and mental health. Betsy previously became breathless easily and struggled with energy levels.
Since losing weight Betsy is so much more active nowadays and enjoys going to the gym and kitchen discos with the kids, days out are very different now as she can run and keep up with the children.

She says: “I’m the fittest and happiest I’ve ever been – and I’m looking forward to living every moment to the fullest now!”
Bonnie, who runs the Farfield Hall Slimming World group, says: “I feel so privileged to have played a part in Betsy’s transformation.
"Betsy’s determination and motivation has remained consistent throughout and I couldn’t be more proud of everything she has achieved – she is a real inspiration to the whole group."
