ONE OF Wrexham band Neck Deep's greatest hits has now reached the magical milestone of one-hundred million streams on Spotify.

Formed in Wrexham in 2012, it only took two years for the punk band to first share a stage with their heroes as they opened for Blink-182 in 2014 at Brixton Academy, as well as Leeds Festival a few weeks later.

Since then, Neck Deep - currently made up of Ben and Seb Barlow, Sam Bowden and Matt West, has continued to enjoy phenomenal success over in America.

The group's third album in particular - The Peace and the Panic - proved popular when it was released August 2017, and debuted at number 4 on the US Billboard 200.

As a result of that, one of the songs from that album has continued to be backed by Neck Deep fans and has now hit an incredible milestone.

'Wish You Were Here' has now passed the one-hundred million streams mark on Spotify.

The band took to Twitter earlier this week to highlight the feat, adding: "This is insane, thank you!"

Neck Deep first came together when Ben met lead guitarist Lloyd Roberts when Barlow's older brother, Seb, was recording with the Wrexham hardcore band Spires that Lloyd played in.

Part of a wave of pop-punk revival acts, they cited influences like Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory and Sum 41 and after enlisting friends from Wrexham's flourishing punk scene, completed their lineup with Matt West on guitar, Fil Thorpe-Evans on bass and Dani Washington as drummer.

Following the release of their debut album Wishful Thinking in January 2014, the band became a full-time project, with the band members leaving their jobs or dropping out of university courses as they began touring extensively across the UK and US.

Since then, they have produced three more albums; Life's Not out to Get You (2015), The Peace and the Panic (2017) and most recently All Distortions Are Intentional in 2020.

The band also won 'Best British Newcomer' at the Kerrang Awards in 2014 and their song 'In Bloom' won the 'Best Single' prize at the same awards in 2018.
