NOISY engineering works on the railway line in Deeside are set to last for a couple more weeks.
Residents living near the tracks in Shotton have been complaining of sleepless nights as works take place.
The work started over the weekend - and is seeing the tracks being replaced.
One nearby resident described the noise as "horrendous", while another said it is causing their dogs to "go crazy".
One woman said over the weekend: "I haven’t slept for the last two nights. Glad I’m off next week, I’m so tired. It’s all through the night."
Another person added: "It's absolutely awful, I just can't get off to sleep as it's so loud. Hope it's worth it."
And residents face some more disturbed nights to come - with the 24/7 works set to take place until March 19.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: “We are working near Shotton railway station to carry out essential rail replacement and maintenance to improve reliability and passengers’ journeys.
“Our teams will be working around the clock, including nights, from Friday, March 3 to Sunday 19 March.
“We understand that the nature of our work often means some noise is unavoidable. We’re aware we are working close to your home and will try to minimise this as much as possible, but we are sorry if we do disturb you. Thank you for your patience."
