SPECIALIST teams were called in to assist Wrexham Rural Police to crack down on illegal off-roading in Glyn Ceiriog over the weekend.
In a short statement, Wrexham Rural PCSO Dean Sawyer said work was underway to tackle the issue.
He said: "Since April 8, 2022, there has been a Traffic regulation order stopping motor vehicles and motor bikes using the Wayfarers in the Ceiriog Valley.
"The location has had an issue with off-roading for a number of years.
"Unfortunately a number of these visitors to the area are still ignoring this order.
This weekend NWPolice including Roads Policing Unit, Drone team and Neighbourhood Policing Team have had an operation in the area targeting this issue.
"A large number of bike riders and quad bikers were stopped from using the Wayfarers and given words of advice.
"Reassurance was also given to local residents and high visability patrols completed.
