CLASSROOMS across Flintshire and Wrexham were a sea of white, red and green this week, as the region marked St David's Day.
Many held eisteddfods for the annual occasion, celebrating all things Welsh with singing, poetry, crafts and costumes.

Here are just some of the youngsters who took part...
• Ysgol Y Waun in Chirk celebrated St David's Day with their own eisteddfod, which included singing, recitals and making crafts.
Some are the crafts included making bunting to represent Wales and creating their own Seven Wonders of Wrexham.
• A group of children from Ysgol Ty Ffynnon, in Deeside, visited residents of Hollybank Residential Care Home in Shotton, to sing Welsh songs, to help them celebrate St David's Day.
Cllr Gary Cooper also accompanied the group on their visit.

• Rhosddu Primary School held an eisteddfod for St David's Day, where all children took part in a variety of competitions.
These were then judged and the winners were awarded certificates, including the winning poem from Year 6 (Bardd).
The school governors were invited to attend and to present the certificates. The whole event was presented by Class G, who also performed scenes from their topic, which is the Second World War.
• Children at Deeside primary Ysgol Ty Ffynnon, took part in an eisteddfod for St David's Day.
They took part in a reciting, singing, art and handwriting challenge.
The children are set in Houses, which are named after Welsh rivers - Alun, Dyfi, Gwenfro and Ceiriog - and came to school wearing colours that represented their House - red, white, yellow and green.
Chair of governors, Margaret Madoc-Jones, came into school to adjudicate and judge the performances and work.
The children were awarded certificates and House points throughout the day. The House points were totalled up and the final score was that Dyfi won the competition and the shield was presented to a member of that House.

• Gwersyllt CP School pupils embraced tradition with costumes for this year's St David's Day.
• It was a celebration of all things Welsh at Busy Bees Playgroup, in Flint.
Children dressed up in red, white and green, took part in crafts, and snacked on Welsh cakes.
