A CANCER support group in Wrexham has had a funding boost thanks to a number of former Wrexham AFC players.
The Wrexham Prostate Support group recently received a cheque for £300 from the former players' committee of the Reds.
The committee includes former Wrexham centre half Graham Jones who is now vice-chairman at the support group.
The money will go towards a £60,000 target which will enable the group to purchase new technology for use at the Maelor Hospital.
The group has completed a number of fundraisers over the past few years and meet at the Trevor Arms, Marford on the first Wednesday of every month.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, March 1 at 7pm.
