A Pen-Y-Cae scout has completed an epic walk which saw her raising funds to go to a World Scout Jamboree in South Korea.

Daisy White covered a distance of 16.7 miles in total, from Moel Famau back to Rhosllanerchrugog on Saturday, February 4.

Daisy needed to raise £3,495, which is what it will cost to get her to Seoul to compete in the event .

The Pen-Y-Cae Explorers / Scouts group member was selected to represent the UK at the event but was not allowed to be gifted the money, so had to come up with ways to fundraise despite being in the middle of her GCSE’s.

The event will take place this summer, with over 40,000 Scouts from all around the globe joining Daisy.

This will be the 25th World Scout Jamboree, which only happens once every four years. It will last three weeks and this year will mark the 100th anniversary of the event, making it extra special.

Any sponsorships are still greatly appreciated and can be made through the GoFundMe page here.

She can also be sponsored directly by contacting the Scout group’s Communications Manager at streetphotoash@gmail.com.

Her walk has now been completed, and although a total amount raised is still unknown, it is thought that she now has the funds to be able to go to Seoul.

In a post walk write up, Daisy said: “We are home. We’ve made it. I’ve done it. Another step closer to Seoul. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved and proud to have completed the walk as a thank you to all of those who have sponsored me. We share the excitement and love of our friends and families.”
