A WOMAN who was caught with "a lot of drugs" has been told she's lucky after being spared jail.

Simone Sides, of Broad Park Road in Coventry, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Wednesday.

The 39-year-old had pleaded guilty at a previous hearing of being concerned in the supply of cocaine, amphetamine and cannabis at Pontblyddyn between May and September 2020.

Jade Tufail, prosecuting, told the court that police executed a warrant at Sides' address - then in the Pontblyddyn area - in June 2020.

Cannabis, amphetamine and a number of mobile phones were found at the home.

Police investigating her also later found a large quantity of cocaine in August, as well as more amphetamines at her home - this time in a duffel bag behind a bin.

Then, in September officers were called to the Shell Services on the A55, where a purse containing more than £1,000 in cash and small scales with white powder residue on them had been found.

Sides called the police and volunteered that the purse belonged to her.

Just over a month later, police executed a warrant at the Holiday Inn on the A55 where Sides had been staying.

Cannabis was found, along with scales, a number of dealer lists, four more mobile phones and a container with a small amount of cocaine in it.

The phones were examined and showed clear indications she'd been involved in the supply of drugs - with messages referring to her by name and people asking for cannabis and cocaine.

Initially, she denied the offences and blamed others - alleging her phone "must have been cloned."

But Judge Niclas Parry said he was of the view that she had been "clearly acting under coercion" and that having the case hanging over her ever since had been a punishment in itself - an observation defending barrister Philip Tully agreed with.

The Judge told Sides: "I'm going to give you a chance now - and you're lucky.

"This was a lot of drugs, different types of drugs.
