Some of the reports mention having seen powerful torch lights being seen across fields with tyre marks having been found in some the following day when farmers have gone to check.
A spokesperson for Rural Crime Team said: "It is strongly believed that these people are out hunting or hare coursing with the added concern that they may also be looking out for insecure properties and outbuildings.
"We ask that if any vehicles or persons are seen late at night in rural areas that you feel are suspicious that NWP are contacted or the matter reported as soon as possible, can we please also ask that all valuable equipment is locked and secured out of sight."
