POLICE are warning residents in Wrexham to be aware following reports of cold callers in the area.
North Wales Police said they have received reports of males 'falsely claiming to be council workers' in Johnstown.
They added that no work was carried out at the address, but are warning other residents in the Wrexham area to be aware of cold callers.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We've had a report of males in Johnstown falsely claiming to be council workers.

"The males, wearing high-vis jackets told householders they had come to cut their trees and fix their fences.
"Thankfully the householders were sceptical of their identity and no work was carried out.
"If you do have work scheduled to be carried out by the council, or indeed any tradesman, please consider asking those tasked with the work to show their identity card(s).
"Any legitimate businessman will not object to such a reasonable request."
