A FLINTSHIRE couple have revealed how a lockdown hobby has resulted in a popular YouTube following.
Matthew 'Wills' Williams and partner, Rach Catherall who live in Mynydd Isa began their adventures and travel vlogs during the pandemic to capture their memories but have since developed a popular YouTube channel with almost 1,500 subscribers.
The vlogs, entitled 'Postcard and a Pint' follow the couple on their travels around North Wales, The UK, and beyond.
Their videos are produced in a compelling, humourous, and engaging way.
Reflecting on how they got started, 'Wills', who is head of sound at Mold's Theatr Clwyd said: "We'd do our daily walk during the lockdown and we started becoming a bit addicted to these travel vlogs.

"Because we love travel so much, over time we started to wonder 'oh what would we do if we were to do that?'
"We both come from a kind of arts background anyway, so we just thought we'd give it a go for a laugh."
The couple's vlogs have seen them share a variety of things to do across North Wales, such as documenting visits to Wrexham, Mold, and Rhyl; whilst also going further afield to London, Salzburg, and Barcelona.
The concept of YouTube vlogs has become something of a contemporary form of entertainment, even more so since lockdown, and acts as a form of escapism, but Matthew revealed that there is also a unique community aspect to YouTube too.

"One of the nicest things for us is the networking.
"You watch people who do similar channels, you comment on their videos and they comment on yours and we have genuinely made lots of lovely friends.
"We get to know them and we've actually met up with quite a few other YouTube channels, it's just a really nice hobby but also the community side.
"99% of the comments we get are absolutely lovely."
Matthew and Rach's adventures can be followed by visiting the 'Postcard and a Pint' YouTube channel.
