Park CP School, Llay
The Wrexham primary school has launched a new project, that has repurposed an old telephone box.
Donated by Llay Community Council, the Exchange is a refurbished telephone box, which once stood near the Croes Howell. It has now been opened as a Book Exchange where children can 'take a book and leave a book'.
Head boy Sam Prytherch and head girl Amelia Jones explained the project to an audience of children, staff, parents and extended family members, before Cllr Rob Walsh cut the ribbon and declared the Exchange open!
First in to swap a book was Year 4 pupil, Thomas Davies, who had anticipated the opening and had a book ready to swap.
Headteacher Rebecca Billington said: "We look forward to hearing all about the stories the children are reading and hope this will inspire them to read more.
"Children are welcome to swap books before and after school, all we ask is that the books and telephone box are treated with respect.
"Huge thanks to Llay Community Council for once again supporting our school and many thanks to Cllr Rob Walsh for officially opening our Exchange."
