A SECOND hand books business which rose up from the ashes is celebrating one year since it re-launched after its premises was destroyed fire.
Berwyn Bookshop, in Buckley, lost around 400,000 books, worth more than a £1million, after a huge fire swept through its former premises in November 2021.
But after members of the public donated tens of thousands of books, the business reopened just a couple of months later inside Caffi Isa community centre in Mynydd Isa.

And now, a year on, the business is flourishing and has held evenings with best-selling authors.
Emma Littler, co-owner of the business, said: "We can't believe that a year has gone by so quickly. We are very lucky to be surrounded by lovely people. Thank you to all of the people that have shown us nothing but love and support since the fire.
"And a huge thank you to Sara Parker and Caffi Isa for giving us an opportunity and a place that feels like home, Adam (co-owner) and myself are indebted to all you've done for us."
She added: "Our first year of business has been phenomenal, the bookshop, online and working with incredible best-selling authors and hugely successful publishing houses has made or first year in business a tough one to beat.
"But for 2023 we are committed to bring wonderful authors both local and best-selling to Mynydd Isa. We can't wait to see our growth."
To mark the anniversary of reopening, Berwyn Bookshop is hosting a 'fill a bag' sale on Saturday (February 4). It will see people pay £15 to fill a bag with as many books as they can fit inside.
