WITH half term fast approaching, an environmental charity has plenty to keep your youngsters occupied.
There is a variety of free family friendly activities taking place across Wrexham and Flintshire, from the Groundwork North Wales Group.
Minera Lead Mines, in Wrexham, will host a Stepping into Spring event on Tuesday, February 21, from 1pm-3pm. Families will have a chance to get creative and decorate plant pots, plant them up with beautiful spring plants and take them home to enjoy. A wild and wonderful nature themed scavenger hunt is also on offer. Families are asked to book onto this event.

Wild Ground are running a Fire Pit and Crafts event on Tuesday, February 21, from 10am-noon at Knowle Hill Nature Reserve, in Buckley, Flintshire. The event promises to be magical morning with a fire pit to warm up by and a variety of nature-based crafts to take part in.
Join the Our Backyard Programme at the Community Gardens in Connah's Quay on Wednesday, February 22 for a family-friendly session of Fun Bushcraft. Families can enjoy making bird feeders and warming up next to a campfire whilst doing some outdoor cooking in the Community Gardens. This session takes place from 1pm-3 pm and booking is essential.

A series of free lantern making workshops are taking place, where children and their families can make beautiful lanterns, ready for the Lantern Parade in Wrexham on March 1. Families can book to attend at Alyn Waters on Monday, February 20, at 10am; Ty Pawb on Tuesday, February 21, at 1pm or Minera Lead Mines on Thursday, February 23, at 10am, and a drop-in session is available from 10.30am-2.30 pm on Saturday, February 18 at St Marys Church Hall, in Ruabon.
Following the workshops families can bring their lanterns home and join the Lantern Parade on March 1 at Queens Square, Wrexham at 6pm.
