National Story Telling Week - January 30 to February 5

Embrace magic, wonder and adventure with National Story Telling Week.

Embrace magic, wonder and adventure with National Story Telling Week.

Once upon a time, storytelling was a way to pass the time. Now, it's an excellent way to entertain and have fun sharing rhymes and stories with your children! Sharing books and coming to story-rhyme times are fun and a great way to help under fives develop their listening, thinking and talking skills. Finding the time to read with children can often be difficult, especially with all of modern life's pressures but we can help you with that. Some of our libraries have regular story and rhyme times in both Welsh and English, these include Brynteg, Chirk, Cefn Mawr, Rhos, Ruabon and Wrexham libraries. For more details please contact the library directly, details can be found on www.wrexham.gov.uk/libraries and follow the link for Your Local Library. We can't wait to see you!

Knit and Natter

Knitting isn't just about creating new cardigans or socks; research has found it can reduce depression and anxiety, slow down the onset of dementia, distract from chronic pain and can lower your heart rate by 11 beats per minute. Throw in a dollop of a good old natter in a comfortable and relaxed environment and you could be on your way to improving your health and wellbeing. Knit and Natter sessions are now taking place in Cefn Mawr, Coedpoeth, Ruabon and Rhos libraries on a weekly basis. So whether you're a beginner or an experienced knitter why not join these groups, where a warm welcome and a cup of tea awaits you?

Foodbank collection point at Rhos Library

The foodbank is a store of non-perishable food donated by local people. The foodbank network helps people break free from poverty by providing additional support to help people resolve the crises they're facing so they don't need to use a foodbank again in the future. Foodbanks rely on the support of their local communities to support people in crisis. If you would like to donate food items then please visit Rhos Library where there is now a collection point.

Dewch i Mewn gan Esyllt Maelor

Saith stori fer i ddyysgwyr.

Dewch i Mewn by Esyllt Maelor.

Dewch i Mewn by Esyllt Maelor.

Ysgrifenwyd y straeon gan Esyllt Maelor a'r Criw Darllen yn Llyfrgell Nefyn ym Mhen Llŷn. Mae pob math o bethau yn digwydd yn y straeon hyn – pethau da a doniol a phethau cas ac annifyr hefyd. Mae pob stori yn sefyll ar ei phen ei hun. Ond mae yna un peth yn cysylltu pob stori, ond mae rhaid darllen yr llyfr I ddarganfod beth!

Dewch i Mewn by Esyllt Maelor

Seven short stories for Welsh learners.

The stories were written by Esyllt Maelor and the Reading Group at Nefyn Library in Pen Llŷn. All kinds of things happen in these stories - good and funny things and nasty and disturbing things too. Each story stands alone. But there is one thing that connects all stories, but you have to read the book to find out what!
