WREXHAM AFC fans once again impressed on the road as they took a huge following to Gateshead last night (January 24).
If Saturday's mammoth trip to Maidstone wasn't enough, the Red Army was tasked with the near-200 mile journey to the North East.
On a Tuesday evening, with the game being streamed live, many would be excused for not making the 400-mile round trip.
However, in typical fashion, Phil Parkinson's men were backed by a staggering number of fans.
A total of 686 Reds fans made the trip to Gateshead, to watch Wrexham win 3-0 and go three points clear at the top of the table.

Goals from Tom O'Connor, Ollie Palmer, and Paul Mullin wrapped up all three points for the Reds.
The impressive nature of Wrexham's away following resulted in them almost making up half of the total attendance at the Gateshead International Stadium.
In total there was a crowd of 1,422 in attendance, with 686 from Wrexham meaning that Gateshead only had 50 more fans than the Red Army.
I’m safely home and tucked up in bed after the 2nd of two great away wins for @Wrexham_AFC - incredible support at both, massive 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻to those who’ve done both. That’s nearly a 1000 miles on the clock - #RedArmy

Considering it's a four-hour journey, on a cold Tuesday night in January, that's not a bad following.
Phil Parkinson's men are now unbeaten in 15 league games, stretching back to October, and will look to make top spot their own over the coming months.

But for now, all attention turns to Saturday's FA Cup clash.
The Reds welcome Championship flyers Sheffield United at the Racecourse in front of what is set to be a bumper crowd.
Tickets sold out almost instantly and with the BBC One cameras in town, it is set to be a special day for Wrexham AFC.
