Flintshire North's new Police Inspector has spoken of his priorities for the district.
Insp Wesley Williams took up the post recently after the previous Flintshire North Inspector Stephen Roberts became County Chief Inspector for Wrexham.
The Inspector said: "I wish Steve well in his new role and appreciate the great work he and the team have done in setting some solid foundations for me to work with – thank you.
"As you can imagine, the first couple of weeks have been busy understanding internal matters including a formal handover, getting to know the policing team, and reviewing our on-going investigations, demands and plans.
"That said, I have been able to get out and about and be visible in our community.

"I am thankful for our Police and Crime Commissioner and local councillors who have joined me and the policing team to ‘walk the beat’ and speak to residents to get a true reflection of the areas they would like support from us and partners to improve our communities.
"Engagement with our communities is a main priority. I want us to have two-way engagement with our communities and partners to enable us to listen, ask questions and deliver together."
On his plans for the team, Insp Williams continued: "Engagement with our communities is key for us to truly understand what is needed to help us to make a real difference.
"Therefore, it will be one of my priorities and you can expect to see an increase in our virtual and physical engagement.
"Only yesterday, I was walking around the Shotton area with our policing team to see the great work being delivered following the successful Home Office Safer Streets bid.

"The area will benefit from environmental improvements, target hardening, youth intervention funding, additional street lighting and CCTV and more.
"As an example, the funding will provide workshops to raise awareness to young persons. Without spoiling the story, it involves a young man, who steadily becomes involved with the wrong crowd and the wrong side of the law.
"Our teams will focus on solving problems and getting to the root cause of issues. I have sent correspondence out to our councillors to initiate regular meetings to enable us to agree the areas we can all work together to solve community problems.
"I have already received a positive response from these members and look forward to us all coming together soon.
"I look forward to seeing you all at some point in the future."
