Amanda Brooke is an internationally bestselling author; her debut novel, Yesterday's Sun, was a Richard and Judy Book Club pick and since then she has written 11 further books. Amanda lives in Merseyside with cat Spider, dog Mouse, and a laptop within easy reach.

‘Off Flint’: Community Heritage Drop-in Sessions at Flint Library

Celebrating our town, castle and coast

Are you passionate about Flint’s rich heritage? Do you have a story to share about the town, the coast or the castle? If so, we want to hear from you! Pop in to Flint Library to find out what ‘Off Flint’ is all about and how you can get involved.

We have some fabulous footage of Flint from the 1920s through to the 1980s featuring special events and everyday life. Come along and see if you can recognise any of your family or friends.

If you have any old photos you would like to share or have scanned please do bring them along. Plus, we can offer free tea, coffee and cake!

‘Off Flint’ - Celebrating our town, castle and coast is an exciting project to involve local people in recording, conserving and celebrating the rich heritage of Flint town, castle and coast. Stories, photos and artefacts gathered during the project will form the basis of a new community archive in Flint Library so that the information gathered is widely accessible to everyone.

Free training sessions in interviewing, recording and editing skills are also available for anyone interested in volunteering with the project, and will be arranged later in the spring.

The project is led by Flintshire County Council and has received £54,200 funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
