Theatr Clwyd is set to host performance-based workshops this half-term aimed at looking at the consequences of criminal behaviour amongst young people in Flintshire.
The theatre, which has been working with schools and colleges across North Wales for over a decade with its workshops, will work with the support of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales and Safer Streets Fund.
Safer Streets is a £75 million Home Office programme that encourages Police and Crime Commissioners and local authorities to bid for investment for initiatives to prevent neighbourhood crime.
This February, there will be an opportunity for young people aged 10-17 and their parents or carers and members of the community from Connah’s Quay, Shotton, Queensferry and Sealand to participate in the workshop together with partners from Youth Justice, Flintshire Sorted, Flintshire Youth Service and Aura.

Together they will follow the story of a young man, who steadily becomes involved with the wrong crowd, and finds himself on the wrong side of the law.
Working with facilitators, professional actors, Flintshire Youth Justice Service and Flintshire Sorted, they will gain insight into how the criminal justice system works in relation to young people, examine the choices and indicators around our young offender, and look at the wider impact of anti-social behaviour not only on the individual, but on families and the wider community.
There will also be an opportunity to question and debate the circumstances around the crime, and together look for the reasons behind his behaviour, and collectively discover the solutions.
Following the workshop, Aura will be facilitating a number of sports activities for participants to get involved in where food and refreshments will be available.
