A CHARITY football match is being held in aid of a Flintshire boy who is battling leukemia.
In November, the family of 13-year-old Evan Gaine was given the devastating news that he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) - a rare form of aggressive leukemia.
Evan, from Connah's Quay, has been undergoing an intense course of chemotherapy at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
A fundraiser was launched for Evan and his family following the tragic diagnoses, which has just surpassed its target of raising £12,000.
And this weekend, Flint Town United FC is playing host to a charity match between Connah's Quay Navy Club and Full-Time on Cancer FC - a children's cancer charity which raises money through football matches.

The game takes place on Sunday (January 15) at 4.30pm at the Essity Stadium (home of Flint Town United).

All proceeds from the match will go to Evan's family.
Evan's mum, Ria Ellis, said: "We are truly overwhelmed by the support the community has shown us since Evan's diagnoses.
"We are so grateful for everything is being done to help Evan. Evan loves football and I can't think of a better event to raise money than a football match."
