A Connah's Quay councillor has launched an appeal for essential items that will be going to help those in Ukraine.
Councillor Debbie Owen, representative for the Connah's Quay Central ward, launched the appeal on Monday, January 9, which will run until Friday, January 13.
Cllr Owen has based herself at the Cricket Club in Connah's Quay from 3-5pm throughout the week.

In a statement posted via social media Cllr Owen said: "We will receive/collect anything as long as it is in good shape.
"Share with us what you can and become part of the help Ukrainians need this winter."
Despite the appeal collections operating between 3-5pm Cllr Owen is open to taking donations outside of this time and advises those wanting to donate outside of this time to ring her at 07944695007.

The appeal is specifically looking for the following items;
- Dry foods, including cans or pet food
- Baby wipes
- Washing powder, washing liquid
- Crutches, wheelchairs
- Pencils, notebooks, stickers
- Batteries, flashlights, candles
- Clothing (good condition), baby clothing, blankets, sensible shoes
- Sheets (good condition), towels, bedding
- Games (e.g yoyo's, cards, dominoes, skipping ropes, rubik cubes, puzzles
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste, soaps, face cloths, lip balm, deodorant, tissues, combs, hairbrushes
- Sweets and candy.
According to Cllr Owen, the necessity at this stage is more dried food donations such as tins or pet food.
The donations will then be transported to the PISC-CIC, Polish Integration Support Centre, which is based in Wrexham before being taken to Ukraine.
