Mayor of Mold, Councillor Haydn Jones has claimed Mold is 'leading the way' in new businesses upon a recent visit to a new stall at the indoor market.
Cllr Jones attended the new market stall, 'Foxy Lady', which opened in December and was full of praise for the town's ability to accommodate new businesses.
The 'Foxy Lady' stall opened at Mold's indoor market during the festive period, and stocks ladies' fashionwear and accessories.
Linda Stockton, who runs the stall alongside her husband Ray said: “Ray and I already have an established shop in Dagfields Craft and Antique Centre and after Covid, we decided to look at expanding the business and looked into a market environment, so we were delighted when the opportunity opened up to take on a stall in Mold’s Indoor Market.
"I am originally from Treuddyn and a former pupil of Ysgol Maes Garmon, so returning to Mold appealed to me for a number of reasons; Mold is still very much a quaint market town, most of my family live close by so it’s a great opportunity to see more of them and I am looking forward to reconnecting with the town.”

Linda added: “We are delighted with our stall and look forward to expanding our range with more clothes and accessories. The Indoor Market has a friendly and comfortable feel about it and we look forward to welcoming our customers.”
Cllr Jones said: “It is great to see the indoor market so busy, there is certainly a great variety of stalls to visit and I am sure Foxy Lady will be popular amongst the female visitors but it’s also great for us men to pop in and buy a gift or two for our female family and friends.
"It was lovely to reminisce with Linda about family and friends we had in common from Ysgol Maes Garmon and I would like to wish Linda and Ray the very best of luck in their new venture."
The mayor heaped praise on the town's ability for accommodating new businesses, adding: "Mold is certainly leading the way when it comes to new business openings and expansions, we have had over 60 businesses either opening or expanding since 2020 and we look forward to welcoming a few more in the very near future”
