BOOKSHOPS have been sharing their thoughts as Prince Harry's highly anticipated memoir, 'Spare', hit the shelves today.

The controversial memoir went on sale in book shops across the UK on Tuesday, with some queuing overnight to get their hands on a copy.

'Spare', sees Prince Harry candidly open up about growing up and then falling out with the Royal Family.

The memoir also sees the Prince reveal details about his strained relationship with brother, William, reflect on his time whilst serving in Afghanistan and his drug-taking admissions.

It was very much 'business as usual' for bookshops in Mold today, with just a steady trickle of customers making their way to pick up their copy; with any anticipations of long queues and potential sell-outs wide of the mark.

A spokesperson for the local WHSmith on the High Street admitted they didn't expect any queuing from locals to pick up the book: "We've sold 10 copies and had 17 on pre-order.

"We've had a lot of people say though, 'bet you haven't had many pre-orders of that!"

Elsewhere, further up the street 'The Bookshop' owner, Carloyn Johnson said: "We had a number of pre-orders which have been collected, it was a slow start in the morning but we've had a steady stream of people come in to buy it."

When asked if the dwindling number of residents clamouring to get a copy surprised her, Carolyn said: "It's pretty much as expected really, I knew some people would be interested and I knew some people wouldn't - I didn't have to open up at midnight!

"I think people do have bigger things to worry about, there is an interest factor just to see what all the fuss is all about and see what he has to say."

Leader readers were also quick to voice their opinions as the controversial memoir was released.

Tracy Williams said: "No need, sick of hearing about it every time I turn on the TV".

Meanwhile, Lois Lee added: "My copy of his book should arrive today. I'm looking forward to reading it for myself and will form my own opinion without any outside influence."
