ROADWORKS are set to continue on a road linking Wrexham and Flintshire for a further 10 days, as police warn motorists to abide by rules.
There are temporary lights in place on the A550 Wrexham Road, near the turn-off for Hope.
The roadworks have led to significant traffic delays in all directions, with queues coming southbound from the A55, northbound from Llay, along Gresford Road, and through Hope on Hawarden Road.
The roadworks are part of a toucan crossing being installed along the A550, with Flintshire County Council expecting the works to be completed by January 20.

A council spokesperson said: "We have temporary traffic lights near to the junction with A550 Hawarden Road/A550 Wrexham Road and B5373 Gresford Road.
"Our works relate to the installation of a Toucan Crossing associated with the shared use path along the A550 Wrexham Road.
"It is anticipated that this section of the work will be completed by 20 January."
As a result of the large delays along Gresford Road, North Wales Police's Flintshire South team say they have had multiple reports of motorists attempting to cut through the traffic.
Kiln Lane is a one-way road out of Hope that comes out on the A550, and according to police 'several vehicles' have been seen driving the wrong way down the road.
