The Lives of Brian by Brian Johnson

The Lives of Brian by Brian Johnson

The Lives of Brian by Brian Johnson

Growing up in Dunston, Newcastle after the Second World War, Brian Johnson lived a quiet childhood. Then he saw Little Richard on the BBC and it hit him instantly: he was going to be a singer. For over a decade he tried to make his mark in the music world, appearing on TV and touring internationally - but real success slipped out of reach. With a family to support and a mortgage to pay, Brian was forced to put his dreams on the back burner. Then one day out of the blue, he was invited to London for an audition for one of the world's best up-and-coming acts. AC/DC were a band in crisis following the tragic death of their lead singer, Bon Scott, but with Brian on board they would record their masterpiece: Back in Black. It became the biggest-selling rock album of all time. Brian Johnson has a real knack for making stories entertaining and this book is full of warmth, humour and honesty. Fans of AC/DC may be disappointed as this story ends, for now, after the release of Back in Black with a promise to write a second volume.
