WREXHAM'S newly-appointed Chief Inspector has said he plans to focus on a preventative approach to crime.
Steve Roberts has become the county's new Chief Inspector, with his previous post as Flintshire North Inspector being taken up by Insp Wesley Williams.
Under his new role, Chief Insp Roberts has responsibility for both the Wrexham City and Rural policing teams.
And despite having moved over to the job a few days ago, he has given an indication of his plans.
He explained: "I intend on driving the Prevent Agenda on the understanding ‘it is better to prevent crime in the first place’.

Prior to that he worked in many areas of North Wales Police, including previously as force incident manager, tactical firearms commander and temporary chief inspector for Wrexham.
