Chirk Castle estate has announced it is closed today due to high winds and the danger of fallen trees or branches.
The castle is currently closed and reopens on January 28, however the estate grounds have previously remained open for walkers.

Due to high wind forecasts today, January 4, a spokesperson for Chirk Castle Estate posted via social media: "The estate will be closed today due to high winds.
"Because of the number of veteran trees along the footpaths there's a danger of falling trees and branches.
"Please don't walk on the estate."
Although there is no weather warning in place the Met Office has predicted winds of up to 46mph in Chirk.
