FESTIVE revellers and licenced premises have been thanked for their efforts to keep celebrations safe and sensible.
Flintshire South Inspector Iwan Jones said he was very pleased to see Christmas and New Year pass in his area without major incident.
"It can be the peak of our demand if we don't get the licensing issues right," he explained.
"But this year we conducted a lot of checks with Flintshire licencing and met all licensees to ensure they stuck to their conditions.

"New year's eve saw a lot of activity in licenced premises but we didn't have any major events as the majority of people were well behaved.
"We were really pleased with how licensees and premises have maintained their properties and looked after the people who go there."
The run up to Christmas also saw high numbers of people attending pubs for the World Cup, Insp Jones added - but thankfully this also passed without presenting a spike in demand.
