A BELOVED Wrexham bakery has issued its final farewell after closing its doors for the final time last month.
Wrexham residents were quick to share their love and support for owner, Emma Wilson and her local business which left a huge impression on the city in its near decade long presence on Chester Street.
In what would prove to be their final post, shortly before the New Year arrived, Emma Wilson expressed her heartfelt thanks in what was described as an 'emotional' ending of an era: "So that is it. End of an era. I still have lots to do still and sort out, but EmzCakes is officially closed.

"I waited a few days after our last day on Christmas Eve because quite frankly it has been emotional, and I didn't know how to put into one post what this has meant to me.
"Over a decade in business, so many amazing friends made, brilliant customers, worked with some absolute legends who I am so thankful wanted to be part of the EmzCakes team, countless TV appearances, hired by Netflix to bake a cake!!
"Won awards, made thousands of incredible cakes, baked millions of cupcakes and bakes, lots of laughs, definitely some tears, survived a global pandemic and thrived! But best of all, I got to live my dream.
"I am so grateful to each and every single person who has been part of this journey with me, from my AMAZING family and friends who have supported me right from the start, including two people who travelled across the country to support me (you know who you are) to every single person who has enjoyed a treat from us.
"MASSIVE shout out to my Mum, Joan, who is hands down my biggest cheerleader and always told me I could achieve whatever I put my mind to.
"And finally to Bobby, my other half, who everyone assumes is my husband as we have been together for over 12 years (still waiting for that proposal). I wouldn't still be standing if it wasn't for him.
"I never thought this journey would end. But sometimes life throws you a few curve balls to guide you onto a new path.
"As sad as this year has been for us on a personal level, I am so bloody proud of myself for EVERYTHING we have been through and come out the other side.
"When I first said I wanted to open a cake shop people told me I was crazy, it would fail etc.
"Well look what I did. I am SO PROUD Always believe in yourself and always follow your dreams, life is too short!
"This might be the end of the EmzCakes story, but it is just the start of mine."
