SOME rather emotional drone footage has given an insight into how the Racecourse Kop development currently looks.

Wrexham Council’s planning committee has given the green light to Wrexham AFC's proposals for a replacement Kop at the iconic ground in early November.

Before the club was purchased by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2021, fans had long dreamed of a new stand to replace the current Kop which has been derelict for almost 15 years.

And that dream is now set to come true with the new development raising the Racecourse capacity from 10,000 to 15,500.

A video posted to Twitter on December 22 has shown the re-development process get underway.

A JCB can be seen hard at work behind the old Kop as it prepares it for its new lease of life.

Jason Lewis, who posted the below video to Twitter, wrote: "Thank you Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds for what you have brought to our club and our corner of Cymru.

"Wrexham AFC, the future is bright after a long darkness."

The new Kop at the Racecourse could be ready as early as 2024/25 season.

It is hoped international football can then return to the North Wales ground soon after.
