EMPLOYEES at a Chirk chocolate factory have given an extra sweet Christmas gift to a local charity.
Staff at the Mondelez-owned Cadbury plant chose Wrexham’s Nightingale House Hospice to receive their yearly ‘Your Charity Your Choice’ £5,000 donation.
Nightingale House Hospice is dedicated to supporting those who are living with a diagnosis of a life-limiting illness and will benefit from the funds which have come via The Cadbury Foundation.
Laura Parry, head of income generation at Nightingale House Hospice, said: "The funds will make a huge difference in supporting the rehabilitation of patients following treatment and those coping with the symptoms of a life-limiting illness.
"It will enable these patients to enjoy a better quality of life during their illness.
"This contribution has made a difference at what has been a very challenging time for the hospice and the national community, and for that, we cannot thank The Cadbury Foundation and the local employees at Mondelēz International for their support enough."

Every year, all Mondelēz International UK employees are invited to nominate wellbeing-related charities or projects close to their hearts to receive the large donation, with the final shortlisted up for vote amongst fellow colleagues.
Bethan Williams, brand executive at the Mondelēz International Chirk site, nominated the charity to receive the donation.
She said: "Nightingale House Hospice provides vital support to those in need and this donation is a fantastic contribution to help the charity and its team continue their incredible work."
The Cadbury Foundation was set up in 1935 in recognition of Richard and George Cadbury and their investment in the welfare of their employees and the local community.
Across all Mondelēz International UK sites, £65,000 has been donated to charities, projects and clubs across the country as part of its ‘Your Charity Your Choice’ scheme.
Nightingale House Hospice is one of 12 charities from across the UK to receive a substantial donation from the fund.
Kelly Farrell, community affairs manager at Mondelēz International, said: "We’re extremely proud to be able to support the charities that are important to our employees through our ‘Your Charity Your Choice’ initiative each year.
"We’re delighted to know that with The Cadbury Foundation’s donation, Nightingale House Hospice will be able to continue providing vital care to the Chirk community."
