Butchers in Mold have been extremely busy in the run up to Christmas with customers travelling far and wide to get their meat.
With Christmas celebrations just around the corner, meat, and more specifically turkey and ham, will be on many people's shopping list.
The Leader, headed out to Mold town centre to speak to two local butchers about how trade has been over the festive season.
CJ's Butchers in Mold has recently moved to a new larger location, which is conveniently just across the street at the Daniel Owen Centre.
Carlos Grech has been running a Mold CJ's Butchers shop since 2018 and has formed a great relationship with many loyal customers.
Today, Thursday December 22, the shop had a continuous queue of customers arriving to collect Christmas orders and turkeys.
According to staff at the store they have been very busy over recent weeks with lots of pre-orders.
With recent reports of Avian Flu across parts of Wrexham and Flintshire and amid fears this may affect the turkey stock ahead of Christmas, customers Trisha and Phil Bright were pleased they were able to pick up their turkey from CJ's.
Trisha Bright said: "We were prepared as we ordered early."
CJ's currently has no full birds left however have some availability for crowns.
When discussing concerns about whether the cost of living may have impacted customers being able to buy turkeys or meat this year, Mr Grech said: "We have brought our margins right down, at the end of the day our customers are like family."

The butchers welcome customers from all across the North West and North Wales including; Liverpool, Runcorn, Holywell and even one customer from Clitheroe.
Saffron Hulson, of Hulson's Butchers in Mold, was also pleasantly surprised by the influx of customers over the festive period, given the rise in costs.
She said: "We were worried as we just can't tell day to day but we have been extremely busy."
The butchers, which is on Wrexham Street, has been busy over recent weeks with customers coming in to prepare for Christmas.
While acknowledging there may have been an impact from covid Saffron believed she has seen an increase in business over this Christmas period in comparison to previous years.
Customers queueing at both Hulson's and CJ's Butchers were quick to share their praise of their local butchers and the service they receive.
