WREXHAM AFC co-owner Rob McElhenney has seemingly confirmed the rumours that the club will make a trip to the USA in 2023.

The takeover of the club by Rob and friend and fellow actor Ryan Reynolds, coupled with the launch of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, has boosted the club's profile around the world.

Since then, the Reds have gained new fans from the USA, from Canada and so many other countries.

And, it now looks like Wrexham are planning to make USA fans' dreams come true by paying them a visit in the new year.

The announcement was made as 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' star Rob spoke to 'The Town with Matthew Belloni' podcast recently.

During the interview, Rob says: "One of my intentions is to make Wrexham ‘America’s team.’ I don’t know why we couldn’t do that."

He added: "Next year we’re going to do a tour around some of the MLS teams, so that’ll be fun."

The RobRyanRed Podcast was one of those Wrexham-based fans excited by the prospect.

Taking to Twitter, they wrote: "As many expected, Rob McElhenney confirms Wrexham will have a tour of America in 2023 to play a handful of MLS teams.

"Loads of fascinating lines about potential for Seasons 3/4 of Wrexham Fx (Welcome to Wrexham), outside investment and PL goal."

Rob has previously confirmed that there will definitely be a season two of the hugely-successful Welcome to Wrexham documentary.

The Disney Plus series focuses on the takeover of the club by Rob and Ryan but also shines a spotlight on the die-hard fans of the club within the Wrexham community.

There has not yet been an exact schedule released of the Wrexham tour by the club, nor a list of possible opponents.

However, there has been speculation over the likes of Philadelphia Union (based in Rob's home city) and Inter Miami (co-owned by David Beckham who has previously been spotted with Rob and Ryan at Wembley).

Last summer, the Reds spent pre-season in Alicante where they faced Leganes and Nottingham Forest's under 23's side.

Could the summer of 2023 be spent in the USA? Time will tell ...
