WREXHAM AFC has said it is "delighted" to see the launch of the National League’s live streaming service.
The club's game against Eastleigh last Saturday was the first to be streamed under the new scheme - which Wrexham AFC has been calling for in recent months.
The Reds' game with Eastleigh was allowed to be streamed despite taking place at 3pm on a Saturday - at which time it would usually be subject to blocked broadcasting hours stipulated in Uefa Article 48. The blocked hours will be reinstated on Saturday, January 14, meaning Saturday matches played during blocked hours from this date onwards will not be eligible for domestic streaming.
Wrexham AFC has been covering all home league games with four cameras since the takeover, to ensure that it has the best possible match coverage for the documentary and have further enhanced this since the start of the 2022/23 season by using higher fidelity cameras.
This service is provided to the club by 247.tv and when a visiting club is happy to accommodate four-camera coverage for Wrexham's away games, the club has paid for this to be delivered by them, to benefit the documentary.
Last Saturday, consistent with previous visits to Eastleigh, they were happy to accommodate enhanced coverage and that created the viewing experience for the subscribers from both clubs.
If a club does not accept Wrexham's offer, and a number didn’t last season, then the coverage will be one camera coverage that is the minimum standard required by the National League and BT Sport. This is what most of the subscribers watching other games viewed on Saturday with the quality determined by the skill of the camera operators at clubs, up and down the country.

Prior to the launch, the club asked the National League several questions of clarification, some of which remain outstanding or to be answered in full but it wanted to share the relevant elements with fans.
The commentary will always be that nominated by the home club and there is no facility available at this time for each club to have its own commentary on the stream going to their fans
Article 48 does apply to the National League, so 3pm kick-offs on a Saturday will not be streamed to fans in the UK.
The National League will not permit the moving of fixtures from 3pm on a Saturday, just so they can be streamed, a decision that Wrexham AFC supports.

As it stands, any club wishing to stream FA Trophy fixtures or indeed any games other than those in the National League will have to do so, via an alternative platform.
It is the Club’s intention to stream Wednesday’s FA Trophy fixture with Scunthorpe United.
The stream will be on the club’s service, WrexhamPlayer.
