EMPLOYEES at JCB in Wrexham have been busy spreading Christmas cheer as they deliver to vulnerable children as part of their toy appeal.

Collection points were set up across Wrexham which saw over 100 toys donated - with even more set to be bought for distribution thanks to a generous donation worth £1,105 from the GMB union.

In total, across the UK over 1,000 toys have been donated alongside other collection points in Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

JCB Group HR Director Max Jeffery said: “The response from JCB’s employees to this appeal has been overwhelming.

"Each one of the gifts donated will make such a difference to the life of a vulnerable child this Christmas and I would like to thank every single person who has taken part in this very successful appeal.

"It’s truly heart-warming.”

The gifts collected at JCB Transmissions will now be donated to Wrexham's Yellow and Blue chairty.

Yellow and Blue founder, Peter Humphreys said: “Our charity’s motto is ‘Help Wrexham Smile’ and JCB’s Christmas Toy Appeal will certainly put a smile on the faces of children in our area this festive season.

"Families are really feeling the pinch this year and the toys and donation will go a long way to making Christmas so much happier.”

Devised in 2017, Yellow and Blue helps to support families in Wrexham and in the past 12 months, the charity has delivered 56 tonnes of food to those in need across the county and provided more than 9,000 meals to the homeless, elderly and vulnerable.

During the Covid-19 lockdown, the organisation provided 26,000 meals across Wrexham.
