The Llangollen International Eisteddfod has released its line-up for the 2023 festival, which will begin with a performance from Alfie Boe.

He will be on stage with musical theatre super-group, Welsh of the West End, on Tuesday, July 4.

This unique celebration of global peace and harmony returns for its 76th year, with daily performances and competitions, featuring some of the most prestigious artists from around the world.

Next year will feature an extra day of competitions with a new live final, collaborations with Llangollen Fringe Festival, and a stunning exploration of international cultures on the Maes.

On Wednesday, July 5, The White Flower: Into the Light sees massed choral and orchestral forces come together in a concert of remembrance for the fallen of Sarajevo and the Ukraine.

Propellor Ensemble featuring Celebration of Nations on Thursday, July 6 is set to offer a wealth of riches for the senses, opening with the much-loved procession of international participants and celebration of peace.

Following this, visionary artists Propellor Ensemble present ‘Flight’, a new theatrical work which takes audiences on a journey of connection and imagination inspired by stories of astounding migratory patterns and in nature and humanity, how we listen and why it matters.

The closing weekend of 2023 features the ever popular Choir of the World live final on Saturday, July 8 and in the biggest change to the Eisteddfod, July 9 offers the chance to see some of the most talented young performers compete in Stars of Tomorrow; a new live final which mirrors Choir of the World, but expands the competitive offering to include categories for ensemble dance in ballet, contemporary, commercial and open genres.

Also on the Sunday, the crowning of the Voice of Musical Theatre 2023 will take place, one of the most popular audience events in 2022, more than deserving of its own place in the spotlight.

There's also a new song-writing competition searching out the rising stars of popular music.

The annual International Eisteddfod is home to over 4,000 performers during the week-long programme and is an exquisite celebration of international music, culture, creativity and collaboration.

It is now a key driver of cultural tourism to North Wales and attracts over 20,000 visitors every year.
