Wrexham fans face an uncertain trip in the New Year, after Coventry City was handed an eviction notice.

The Reds drew the Blues in the Third Round of the FA Cup, which resulted in a trip to the 32,000-seater Ricoh Arena on Saturday, January 7.

Despite the disappointment of not being at home, the draw created the potential for a large Wrexham following to make the trip to the Midlands to support Phil Parkinson's men.

However, a trip to Coventry may not be on the cards anymore after former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley handed the club an eviction notice from the ground, according to the BBC.

Ashley's Frasers Group took over the stadium last month.

Coventry used to share the ground with rugby club Wasps before they went into administration earlier this year.

Wrexham's Third Round opponents have had their fair share of trouble since moving to the Ricoh in 2005, which has seen them forced to play home games at Northampton Town and Birmingham City.

There has yet to be any update from Coventry City on the situation.
