TRIBUTES have poured in following the tragic death of four-year-old Aria Hodgkiss.
Aria, from Rhostyllen, died surrounded by her family on Thursday (December 1) after bravely battling a brain tumour for a year and a half - having been diagnosed with it on the day of her third birthday.
After her mum, Melanie, announced the heartbreaking news on social media, hundreds of people sent heartfelt messages of condolence, love and support.
One of them was Wrexham AFC co-owner, Rob McElhenney, who met Aria a few weeks ago at a Wrexham women's match.
Rob, who had also donated £10,000 towards Aria's treatment, tweeted the Aria vs DIPG page saying: "You (her family) gave her a life full of love and of joy.
"You are wonderful, beautiful people."
Wrexham AFC centre back, Aaron Hayden, also tweeted: "Rest Peacefully, Aria".
Wayne Jones, landlord of The Turf, said: "Absolutely heartbreaking. All my love and strength I’m sending to you all. RIP Aria".
The Wrexham AFC Fearless in Devotion podcast and fanzine added: "All of our thoughts are with you. She was a proper little fighter."
The post announcing Aria's passing on the Aria vs DIPG Instagram page has received over 28,000 reactions.
All Saints Poyser Street and Holy Trinity Rhostyllen will be open again tonight (Friday) from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and tomorrow (Saturday) 4-5pm if anyone would like to light a candle to remember Aria or write in the memory book.
