A NEW initiative will help to raise funds while remembering someone very special in Llangollen this Christmas.
The Vale of Llangollen Rotary has teamed up with the Llangollen Christmas festival community group, with the support of the town council, to have the town’s first Rotary Tree of Light.
This will look to help raise much-needed funds for Llangollen Christmas festival.
Using the beautiful Christmas tree as its symbol in Centenary Square, on Castle Street, people can dedicate a tree light and a personal message for £5 in memory of someone special or someone no longer with us, for a special memory or just for being grateful for what we have.
All of the money raised will go towards Llangollen’s Christmas festival.
The messages that are received will be shown on the Vale of Llangollen Rotary Club’s website and on the dedicated Facebook page - LlangollenRotaryTreeofLight.
Names will also be displayed in the area at the foot of the tree for others to read.

A sign will be in position at the base of the tree telling people how they can make their dedications.
In addition, a QR code will be displayed that takes a smart phone user to the page at Rotary club website www.valeofllangollenrotary.com/tree-of-light
All of the details on how to dedicate and donate are also available there.
The Vale of Llangollen Rotary meets at 7.15 for 7.30pm at the Liberty Tavern, 20 Market Street, Llangollen on Monday evenings.
